Is there a difference?

In answer to the last quote on the spot, I think that the reason that people are trying to feel alive is that for the most part, they don't have meaningful, sincere relationships with other people. Because they don't have that deep connection with other people, they try to fill that gap with thrills; image becomes paramount. American culture is very isolationist and so focused on the individual; people are typically so guarded around everyone else that one never truly knows other people. my 2 off-subject cents.

I think the video is so important to this project. I don't know if it was the music in the background that really made me see how anorexia and bulimia can be seen by people as an extreme sport but I saw it. I don't see how someone can reasonably say that things like cliff jumping and climbing mount everest are any less dangerous than bulimia. i think people view extreme sports as accomplishing things and dangerous burt goal oriented. However people with eating disorders have the exact same feelings about their "sport". just as a side note I was deeply distrubed by the photos of models who looked like they were literally on the verge of death, and realizing they were being paid to do this. However some could say they are distrubed by people who participate in often fatal extreme sports and get paid.

That video is so gross... how is hanging skin and bones attractive?? Personally I dont think that extreme sports and bulimia can be connected becuase with bulimia you are lacking vital nutrients that athletes need in order to stay competative.
